IOF warplane blasts Palestinian tunnels

Wednesday 30-September-2009

RAFAH (PIC)– An Israeli F-16 warplane blasted tunnels on the Egyptian-Palestinian borders in Rafah south of the Gaza Strip at dawn Wednesday local sources told the PIC reporter.

They said that the warplane fired two missiles south of Rafah targeting the tunnels which are dug by Palestinians to supply Gaza with vital needs that are not available due to the Israeli siege. The bombardment caused big explosions but no casualties.

An Israeli Apache earlier fired at a deserted area in Beit Lahia north of the Gaza Strip.

The Hebrew radio quoted military sources as saying that the shelling was in retaliation to the firing of mortar shells at Israeli occupation forces (IOF) north of the Strip.

In the West Bank the IOF troops rounded up 14 Palestinian overnight for interrogation local media sources said adding that the arrests were made in Al-Khalil Nablus Jenin and Tulkarem districts.

Hebrew daily Ha’aretz said on its website that an Israeli settler was injured Tuesday night when his car came under fire near Ramallah.

It added that the settler was evacuated by helicopter as large numbers of IOF soldiers encircled then combed the area.
