Tulkarem – The IOF held a massive military operation Thursday afternoon in the northern district of Tulkarem which ended in capturing Muhammad al-Zeitawi a commander of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades after partially destroying a house during a six hour siege.
Zeitawi was arrested after the IOF troops used his mother to convince him to give himself up. After he did the IOF troops went into the house or what is left of it and searched it thoroughly.
The IOF imposed a curfew during the operation and evacuated and took over nearby buildings overlooking Zeitawi’s house.
The IOF troops assaulted journalists trying to cover the events and confiscated cameras.
They also detained three ambulances one of them transporting a Palestinian woman in labor.
Zeitawi has been on the wanted list for a number of years and there was an attempt to capture him on Wednesday night at a farm but the IOF missed him by half an hour.
