OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Israeli war minister Ehud Barak has called on the Israeli occupation forces to prepare for a new large-scale war on the Gaza Strip.
Hebrew daily Yediot Ahronot on Wednesday quoted Barak as telling IOF soldiers during a visit to one of the army bases in the Negev that there will be a “deeper” and larger scale military operation against Gaza that would carry with it many dangers.
Barak told the soldiers that the latest war maneuvers conducted by the Israeli Home Front gave a good impression on preparedness for confronting challenges in any new war on Gaza.
The latest Israeli war on Gaza that started late December 2008 and ended in late January 2009 claimed the lives of almost 1500 Palestinians and wounded almost 6000 others.
