With the escalating pace of continuous and systematic attacks by settlers on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Judaization measures pursued by the Israeli occupation government to transform it into a de facto reality resulting in the temporal and spatial division of the holy Islamic site, experts and observers have warned of unprecedented dangers threatening Al-Aqsa Mosque during the current year. These dangers include Judaization plans implemented by the Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s far-right coalition government.
The Secretary-General of the Islamic-Christian Society for the Support of Jerusalem, Hatem Abdel Qader, believes that the circumstances accompanying the Jewish holidays this year pose the greatest threat to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Abdel Qader said, “The occupation’s aspirations have gone beyond imposing control over Al-Aqsa to the idea of Judaization and settling the Jewish project in the holy city, ultimately leading to the establishment of what is known as the Temple.”
He emphasized that the danger of the current stage lies in the presence of representatives of the Temple Mount organizations at the heart of the decision-making process in the occupation government. He pointed out that these representatives translate ideas and orientations into practical behavior to achieve their Judaization goals.
Abdel Qader also noted that in previous years, Jewish holidays have been used as a cover for the Judaization process of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in order to achieve political objectives related to imposing Israeli sovereignty on the one hand, and maintaining the stronghold of the far-right in the decision-making process of the occupation state on the other.
He also warned that their main goal is to demolish the Dome of the Rock and seize the largest part of the Mosque within the context of the Judaization plan. He called for mobilization in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa to protect it from these dangerous schemes.
Absolute control
On his part, Tarek Fahmy, the head of the Israeli Studies Unit at the National Center for Middle East Studies in Egypt, said that there is a plan adopted by the Israeli occupation government to have absolute control over Al-Aqsa, which is the most dangerous to the Mosque’s current status quo.
Fahmy explained that the “satanic” plans approved by the occupation government are the 20/50 and 20/75 plans, which seek to implement them to gain absolute control over Jerusalem, within the context of what is known as the establishment of the Temple.
He affirmed that “the issue is not about tourism, artifacts, or excavation, but rather a governmental plan that began its implementation with the arrival of this government, which represents the extremist gangs that have started calling for exploiting the current situation and inciting the killing of Palestinians.”
He continued, “That is why we will witness unprecedented events in Al-Aqsa during these (Jewish) holidays if the security apparatuses went ahead in their plans against Al-Aqsa.”
Mobilization and Alertness
Earlier, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, called on the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the 1948 occupied territories to mobilize and be on high alert, and to head to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and perform prayers and seclusion in it starting from Friday (19/4) prayer until the coming Monday to protect it, defend it, and “foil the schemes of the Zionist enemy and its extremist settlers and the so-called Temple groups to desecrate its courtyards and perform sacrificial rituals inside it on the upcoming Sunday and Monday.”
Hamas praised the Palestinian masses in the West Bank, the 1948 occupied territories, and those stationed in the vicinity of Jerusalem and its outskirts, who have proven to be the first line of defense for the first Qibla of Muslims and the third holiest site, stating that they “salute their Jihad and sacrifices and lend their support to continue the journey of defending and safeguarding Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.”
It emphasized the necessity of confronting with all strength the attempts of the fascist occupation government and its war criminals, such as Ben Gvir, to undermine the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. It called upon the nation and free people worldwide “to activate all forms of solidarity and support for Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa, and Gaza, and to support the just struggle of our people until the aggression stops, rights are restored, and the land and holy sites are liberated.”
This comes at a time when one of the alleged Temple groups has called on its supporters to prepare for the slaughter of the so-called Jewish Passover sacrifice in the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the upcoming Sunday and Monday.
The group has published two announcements for two related events. The first is on the upcoming Sunday (April 21), which includes gathering in the settlement of Kochav Yaakov located on the lands of the town of Kafr Akab, north of Jerusalem, and setting off with the live sacrifice towards Occupied Jerusalem.
The second announcement includes a public call to slaughter that sacrifice inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the eve of the Jewish Passover, specifically on Monday (April 22).
