OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)
In an unprecedented and accelerating step, the Israeli occupation authorities have intensified their expulsion orders against Jerusalemites since the beginning of this year, aiming to impose a new reality at Al-Aqsa Mosque and to empty it of its religious and national figures. This is a prelude to enabling so-called “Temple” groups to freely invade it and perform their Talmudic rituals.
According to reliable information, the number of expulsion orders from Al-Aqsa has exceeded one hundred, in addition to unannounced orders, which their owners fear to disclose due to security pressures. These policies reflect a systematic Israeli escalation to impose suffocating restrictions on Jerusalemites and silence opposition voices against the occupation’s violations.
Security pretexts and direct targeting of Jerusalemite figures
Under the pretext of “incitement,” expulsion orders have targeted more than 25 prominent Jerusalem figures, including the Deputy Director of Islamic Endowments Najeh Bakirat, Al-Aqsa preacher Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, and preachers Ismail Nawahda and Muhammad Salim, following their prayers for Gaza in their sermons.
In this context, more than 13 journalists and photographers have been expelled recently in an attempt to silence media coverage of violations inside and around Al-Aqsa.
Iron fist and systematic emptying
The appointment of a new officer in the occupation police to supervise Al-Aqsa came as part of an Israeli approach to adopt a “hardline” policy, according to observers, amid increased daily targeting of those who defend the Mosque and employees of the Islamic Endowments.
Nasser Al-Hadmi, head of the Jerusalemite Authority for Opposing Judaization, who has himself been expelled from the Mosque since February, confirmed that these policies aim to deter Jerusalemites and instill fear among them, ultimately seeking to empty Jerusalem of its Islamic depth.
Al-Hadmi said in a press release: “The occupation is paving the way for harsher measures, including complete expulsion from the city for those who were already served expulsion notices and pursuing the families of the exiled to push them to leave, in a context of soft forced displacement.”
Barriers and immediate decisions
Firas Al-Dibs, Director of the Media Department in the Islamic Endowments, pointed out the danger of this policy, which targets not just individuals but also besieges the city of Jerusalem with military barriers preventing thousands of worshippers from accessing Al-Aqsa. It grants the occupation police the authority to issue and implement immediate expulsion orders without judicial decisions, he added.
He explained that these orders criminalize any attempt to enter the Mosque after they are issued, exposing violators to administrative detention.
Quietly implemented Judaization plans
Fakhri Abu Diab, a member of the Al-Aqsa Trustees Association, said that the occupation is implementing “organized militarization of the city,” as expulsion orders become a central tool in the plan to empty the Mosque of its visitors and worshipers.
He warned that the coming days will witness an increase in the number of those expelled, reaching into the hundreds. He added: “There is hardly a Jerusalemite family that has not had one of its members expelled, while Temple groups and organizations are actively implementing studied Judaization steps, exploiting the absence of Arab and international media attention and the world’s preoccupation with the repercussions of the war on Gaza.”
Towards temporal and spatial division
All indicators, according to observers, suggest that the occupation seeks to impose a temporal and spatial division within Al-Aqsa Mosque as a transitional phase towards its demolition and the establishment of the alleged temple on its ruins. This is done under the guise of Jewish holidays, which are used as a pretext to intensify incursions amid a decline in official and field Arab positions.
