The Hamas Movement has condemned the recent desecration of a Christian Protestant cemetery in Occupied Jerusalem by extremist Jewish settlers.
The assault on the historic Protestant Cemetery happened last Sunday and was discovered on Tuesday evening.
In a statement on Wednesday Hamas spokesman Abdul-Latif Qanu described the settler attack on the cemetery as a “racist and criminal behavior that violates all divine laws and international norms.”
Spokesman Qanu affirmed that the growing Israeli desecration of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem unveils the true face of the occupation state and the aggressive nature of the extremist Jewish settlers.
He urged the international community and its human rights organizations to denounce such Israeli violations and work on ending Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian land.
Two unidentified settlers broke into Jerusalem’s Protestant Mount Zion Cemetery last Sunday and vandalized several graves local media reported.
Security footage circulated on social media shows two Jewish settlers entering the graveyard and wreaking havoc on 30 graves.
