The Palestinian health ministry has accused the Israeli occupation authority of persisting in depriving Gaza hospitals and health centers of having access to their needs of medical devices and supplies.
In a statement on Saturday senior official of the health ministry Bassam al-Hammadin said that the health sector in Gaza suffers from an acute shortage of vital medical appliances especially X-ray imaging machines.
Hammadin affirmed that the medical equipment available in Gaza hospitals became worn out and outdated after they were used for long years adding that the Israeli ban on their entry to Gaza increased the burden on the health sector in general.
The health official also described the Israeli decision to allow in some medical devices as a “media stunt” asserting that these devices which the IOA declared its intention to allow into Gaza already enter Gaza normally and without any coordination.
