Sunday 8-January-2023

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped last night and at dawn Sunday a number of Palestinian citizens and clashed with local youths across the West Bank amid resistance operations in some areas.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society the IOF kidnaped several young men on allegations of their involvement in popular resistance activities and interrogated others after detaining them for hours and raiding their homes in different areas of the West Bank.

Local sources said that the IOF stormed the archaeological area in Sebastia town north of Nablus and carried out large-scale raids on dozens of homes in al-Khalil City.

Meanwhile violent clashes broke out with Israeli forces in al-Mughayyir town in Ramallah while resistance fighters in Jenin reportedly launched shooting attacks on the illegal settlement of Ganim and the military checkpoints of al-Jalamah and Dotan.

In Nablus other resistance fighters opened fire at the Beit Furik checkpoint while an IOF observation post in Huwara town caught fire after young men threw Molotov cocktails at it.

Clashes also broke out in different areas of Qalqilya province and in Aqabat Jabr refugee camp southwest of Jericho City.

Similar skirmishes took place in different areas of al-Khalil province including in al-Arroub refugee camp and Masafer Yatta area while citizens fended off a horde of extremist Jewish settlers after they attacked homes in al-Khalil City.

In Yatta the IOF kidnaped four young men at the pretext that they entered a closed military zone.
