Palestinian political activist Thamer Sabaaneh has warned that Israeli security minister Itamar Ben Gvir started his open war on the Palestinian prisoners which he recently announced his intent to wage in all jails.
In press remarks on Monday Sabaaneh said that Ben Gvir seeks to deprive the prisoners of their rights so he started to use all means to tighten the noose around them through devising new laws against them and transferring them to prisons with tougher incarceration conditions.
The activist pointed out that the Israeli occupation government thinks that the prisoners are the weak part of the Palestinian people so its extremist ideas and racist hatred can be applied against them.
He affirmed that the Palestinian Captive Movement hastened to announce a set of proactive steps to respond to Ben Gvir’s measures as well as a program to protect the prisoners’ rights.
He called for necessarily providing strong popular and official support for the Palestinian prisoners in their battle against Israeli jailers.
