The Higher Presidential Committee for Churches Affairs in Palestine condemned the Jewish settler attacks on the walls of the Armenian Patriarchate in Occupied Jerusalem.
The committee stressed that the Israeli far-right government is trying “to drag the region into a religious war as no one will be spared from its consequences.”
“These criminal acts are no longer confined to extremist settler groups but have become an official policy practiced by the occupation government against Islamic and Christian holy sites in the city of Jerusalem” the committee added in a statement on Thursday.
For his part Hamas’s spokesman for Occupied Jerusalem Muhammad Hamada warned of the escalated Israeli extremist right-wing attacks seeking to implement its settlement and Judaization schemes in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Earlier Thursday a group of Jewish settlers sprayed hate slogans in Hebrew on the walls of the Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate in the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem calling for death to Christians and Armenians.
The slogans said: “revenge” “Death to Christians” “Death to the Armenians” and “Death to Arabs and Gentiles”.
