The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot dead a Palestinian young man on Tuesday afternoon near Halhul town in al-Khalil on allegations of his intention to carry out a shooting operation.
According to local sources a young man died of fatal injuries when Israeli soldiers showered him and the car he was driving with bullets at the entrance of Mount Nabi Yunis in Halhul town north of al-Khalil.
The IOF reportedly prevented Palestinian ambulance crews from reaching the slain young man whose body was lying on the ground.
Local sources who identified the victim as Palestinian Authority security officer Hamdi Abu Dayya said that the soldiers opened fire at him because he was armed.
The Hebrew media said that the Israeli army started investigating if this young man was the same person who had carried out a shooting attack on a settler bus near Gush Etzion settlements two days ago.
