Sunday 29-January-2023

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and hordes of settlers attacked on Saturday evening Palestinian citizens in the West Bank amid clashes in some areas.

According to local sources a young man was injured by an explosive bullet in one of his feet near Ya’bad town in southern Jenin.

The Palestinian health ministry said that doctors at Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin amputated part of a young man’s foot after he suffered a bullet injury near Ya’bad town.

In Nablus the IOF closed the Huwara checkpoint in the south and the Beit Furik checkpoint in the east and prevented Palestinian vehicles from traveling in both directions of the roads amid clashes with local youths in the area.

The Red Crescent said that the IOF barred its ambulance crews from entering Huwara area to evacuate wounded young men or entering through the Awarta checkpoint.

It added that five citizens were provided with medical assistance after they suffered from their exposure to tear gas during clashes with the IOF at the entrance of Beita town.

Meanwhile 10 Palestinians were reportedly injured when a horde of Jewish settlers escorted by soldiers attacked Aqraba town in the southeast of Nablus.

Other groups of settlers gathered at the Zaatara checkpoint as well as near Jurish town and the Salman al-Farsi roundabout in Huwara in southern Nablus with no reported attacks on citizens or vehicles.

Settlers also attacked Palestinian vehicles at the junction of Ein Hilweh in the northern Jordan Valley.
