The Committee of Administrative Detainees has announced the launch of preparations to stage an open-ended confrontation in Israeli jails during the next two months in order to pressure for an end to the administrative detention policy.
In a statement on Wednesday the committee said that the administrative prisoners would use all means they have including hunger strike in order to put an end to the excessive use of administrative detention against Palestinian citizens.
The committee described the administrative detention policy pursued by the Israeli occupation state against the Palestinians as “illegal” especially if this policy was used frequently and excessively.
According to the committee the number of administrative detainees has climbed to 914 prisoners which is a 100 percent increase compared to the same time last year when their number was 483 prisoners.
