The Israeli occupation army carried out airstrikes late Saturday night on a residential neighborhood in the Syrian capital Damascus killing five people and leaving 15 others injured Syria’s state news agency SANA reported.
SANA citing a military source said four civilians and one soldier were killed and 15 other civilians were wounded in the strike on the Kafar Sousah neighborhood in the Syrian capital. It said several of those wounded were in critical condition.
The airstrikes also caused heavy damage to several residential buildings in Kafar Sousah SANA added.
Images and video footage from the Damascus neighborhood showed heavy damage to buildings.
SANA said that Syrian air defenses managed to intercept most of the missiles fired by Israeli warplanes.
The occupation state has carried out hundreds of strikes on alleged military targets inside government-controlled parts of Syria in recent years but rarely acknowledges its attacks.
According to Israeli claims the airstrikes often target sites and people belonging to Iran and Hezbollah.
