The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed at dawn Monday Nablus City and took measurements of a house belonging to the family of Palestinian prisoner Osama at-Tawil as a prelude to demolishing it.
Prisoner Tawil has been accused of being involved in a shooting operation near the illegal settlement of Shavei Shomron in the West Bank that killed an Israeli soldier on October 11 2022.
According to local sources the IOF raided the house of Tawil and notified his father of its intent to demolish the house before military sappers embarked on mapping the house and preparing it for destruction.
Resistance fighters from the Lions’ Den armed group reportedly opened fire at IOF vehicles as they entered Nablus while local youths clashed with soldiers who responded by firing bullets and tear gas canisters.
About a week ago the IOF kidnaped Tawil and another young fighter after encircling the house they were inside and exchanging fire with them in Nablus City. Both of them suffered bullet injuries.
