Two settlers killed in W. Bank resistance operation

Sunday 26-February-2023

Two Jewish settlers were shot dead on Sunday afternoon by a Palestinian resistance fighter after they entered Huwara town in southern Nablus aboard a car.

According to the Hebrew media the Palestinian shooter was wearing a shirt with the insignia of the Nablus-based Lion’s Den armed group when he carried out the shooting operation.

Haaretz website said that the shooter rammed the Israeli car before showering it with bullets and then fleeing the scene.

Israeli medical sources initially said its medics provided two Israeli men in their 20s with medical assistance at the scene and en route to a hospital but later doctors announced that they died of critical bullet injuries.

The settlers were identified as residents of the illegal settlement of Har Bracha.

Immediately following the incident the Israeli occupation forces launched a manhunt for the resistance fighter closing off several roads in the area.

In a related context the Hamas Movement hailed the Huwara operation as a natural response to the Israeli occupation’s crimes the latest of which was the Nablus massacre referring to the Israeli raid last week that claimed the lives of at least 11 Palestinians including children and elderlies and injured over one 100 others.
