Israeli occupation forces (IOF) maintained the closure on the village of Huwara south of the West Bank city of Nablus on Thursday for the fourth day running.
Local sources reported that IOF soldiers arrested several Palestinian citizens who tried to open their shops during the continuous closure imposed on Huwara town and on its commercial activity.
The sources underlined that hundreds of shops along the main road of Huwara have been forcibly closed by the IOF for the fourth day in a row stressing that the closure caused big financial losses and negatively affected the Palestinian citizens’ lives.
For their part Palestinian activists organized a rally in the center of Huwara in protest at the continued siege imposed on the town.
Earlier on Sunday a Palestinian young man was killed and several others were injured after extremist Jewish settlers launched unprecedented attacks against Huwara and other towns in the vicinity of Nablus.
