Action Group for Palestinians of Syria (AGPS) on Sunday revealed that Palestinians in Syria refugee camps organized sit-ins in front of UNRWA headquarters to protest against decreasing the UNRWA supplies provided to them.
“Palestinian refugees are in a state of anger and outrage about the UNRWA reaction to their difficult financial situation” AGPS underlined stressing that UNRWA provides families with 20 USD every three months which doesn’t meet the basic needs of a family for one month.
For their part Palestinian activists condemned the UNRWA for depriving Palestinian refugees in Idlib and Aleppo countryside in Syria of the UNRWA supplies under claims that these areas are unreachable.
The activists added that UNRWA provides only small amounts of money to Palestinian families who suffered from forcible expulsion affirming that 95% of Palestinians of Syria depend totally on cash assistance provided by UNRWA.
Last week dozens of Palestinian refugees gathered in front of the UNRWA headquarters in Muzayrib town and Dera’a refugee camp in southern Syria demanding solutions for their difficult living conditions.
