The United Nations Relief and WorksAgency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has announced its inability to meet thelatest demands of Palestinian refugees in Syria who called for increasing theaid provided to them.
In a press statement on Monday theUNRWA said that it is not able to increase the financial and food aid providedto the refugees due to the shortage in funding by the donating countries thatsupport the UNRWA.
The UNRWA underlined that there is asharp increase in the overall needs of Palestine refugees in Syria due to theirdeteriorating social and economic conditions.
It reiterated its continuous questto gain support from donating countries to ensure that better services areprovided to Palestinian refugees in Syria.
Palestinians in Syria refugee campshad organized sit-ins in front of UNRWA headquarters to protest againstdecreasing the UNRWA supplies provided to them.
