Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya has congratulated 83-year-old Fuad al-Shobaki on his release after being jailed for 17 years in Israeli jails.
In a phone call on Tuesday evening the Hamas chief hailed Shobaki for his steadfastness and resilience during his imprisonment expressing his joy over his release.
Haneyya reiterated his Movement’s commitment to support Palestinian detainees until they regain their freedom.
Israeli authorities had refused to allow the early release of the elderly Shobaki and insisted on completing his 17-year prison term which ended a couple of days ago.
