The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot dead on Friday evening a Palestinian young man claiming that he was trying to carry out a stabbing attack at the northern entrance of al-Bireh City.
The Palestinian health ministry said that 23-year-old Yazan Khasib was killed by IOF gunfire on allegations of his intention to stab soldiers near Bireh City.
Following the incident the IOF closed the northern entrance of the city and intensified its presence in the area.
Meanwhile violent clashes broke out in the evening between local youths and Israeli forces in Deir Ibzi village in western Ramallah.
Local sources said that two young men were injured by IOF gunfire in their legs during the clashes.
Similar skirmishes with the IOF also took place in different areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem.
