The Palestinian prisoners suspended their intention to go on an open-ended hunger strike on Thursday after reaching an agreement with the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) to meet their demands.
The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) affirmed that the prisoners decided to suspend their planned hunger strike after reaching an agreement with the IPS to end the punitive measures imposed on them.
For its part Wa’ed Association for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners said that the Emergency Committee of the Captive Movement called on all prisoners to take the pre-dawn meal (Suhur) and prepare for the holy month of Ramadan.
The Palestinian Ministry of Detainees and Ex-Detainees also hailed the prisoners’ strong will and determination.
The prisoners have proven every day that they can extract their rights and confront Israeli plots against them the ministry added.
Later on Thursday the Supreme National Emergency Committee of the National Captive Movement issued a statement confirming the prisoners’ victory over the Israeli jailer.
The prisoners’ victory came as a result of their unity and the Palestinian people’s support the Committee said.
