Local sources reported that Israeli policemen broke into the Aqsa compound and removed banners calling for intensifying Palestinian presence in Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.
Tensions ran high among Palestinian worshippers in protest against the Israeli removal of the banners.
