Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk has applauded some Arab and Muslim countries and athletes for boycotting Israel during sports events affirming that such behavior proves that the Muslim nation is still loyal to the Palestinian cause.
“We extend our sincere thanks to our Arab and Islamic peoples in general and the Indonesian and Lebanese peoples in particular for their honorable positions that have reflected the stature of the Palestinian cause among the Muslim nation” Abu Marzouk said in press remarks on Saturday.
The Hamas official added that through their boycott of Israel those countries and athletes voiced their support for the Palestinian people “who are exposed to the most heinous violations at the hands of Israeli forces and settlers.”
He stressed that “boycotting the Israeli occupation state represents the minimum level of positions from our Arab and Muslim nations” in response to its ongoing crimes especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
