The political bureau chairman of Hamas Movement Ismail Haneyya arrived in Beirut at noon Wednesday on a “private” visit to Lebanon.
The official website of Hamas reported the visit but did not say whether Haneyya will have meetings with any Lebanese officials. It added that Haneyya’s visit will last for a few days describing it as “private”.
The visit follows the repeated Israeli brutal quelling of Palestinian worshippers at the holy Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem over the past 24 hours.
The Hamas leader had visited Lebanon several times before and met with Lebanese officials and partisan leaders for discussions on the Palestinian issue and means of supporting it.
