Sheikh Abdul-Hai Rayes head of the Council of Somali Scholars said that the Somali people stand by Palestine and consider it their first cause.
In brief press remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) on Saturday Rayes added that such love for the Palestinian cause made many Somali citizens name their daughters “Palestine.”
“Palestine is not an Arab issue but rather it belongs to the entire Muslim nation and we are always on Palestine’s side with our hearts and souls” the Somali scholar underlined.
He condemned the “heinous and barbaric” police assaults on Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque and the desecration of its courtyards by Jewish settlers and saluted the Palestinians who defend the holy site.
