Sheikh Najeh Bakirat head of the Aqsa Academy for Science and Heritage has warned of the Israeli occupation’s relentless attempts to change the historical and religious features of the Aqsa Mosque’s Bab al-Rahma prayer hall.
In press remarks on Monday Sheikh Bakirat affirmed that the Israeli occupation government seeks to empty the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall of Muslim worshipers as a prelude to Judaizing it.
The Jerusalemite official added that the Israeli occupation works according to a gradual policy aimed at controlling the entire Aqsa Mosque.
He urged the Muslim religious figures to mobilize the Arab and Muslim nations’ support for Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque stressing the importance of increasing their awareness in this regard.
Israeli police forces stormed the Bab al-Rahma building on Sunday and Monday and wreaked havoc on its wiring system loudspeakers and other contents.
In response dozens of Jerusalemite young men flocked into the Aqsa Mosque’s Bab al-Rahma prayer hall and performed the Maghrib (sunset) and Isha prayers on Monday in order to protect the site against further police violations.
