The Jerusalemite activist Hinadi al-Halawani on Tuesday called on Palestinian citizens to continue intensifying their presence at the Bab al-Rahma prayer area in the Al-Aqsa Mosque to confront the Israeli attacks.
Halawani also urged the Jerusalemite activists to defend the Bab al-Rahma against the Israeli plans to change its status quo.
She condemned the Israeli police for storming the Bab al-Rahma prayer area and arresting a Turkish woman who had been praying at the Al-Aqsa Mosque for two months.
Meanwhile Jerusalemite activists have been warning about the repercussions of the persistent Israeli attempts to impose temporal and spatial division on the Mosque.
For its part the Islamic-Christian Committee in Support of Jerusalem and its Sanctuaries has warned that Israeli occupation is trying to turn the Bab al-Rahma area in the Al-Aqsa Mosque into a Jewish synagogue.
The committee stressed that Bab al-Rahma is an inseparable part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque warning the Israeli occupation of the repercussions of any attempt to change its status quo.
In 2019 Palestinian Jerusalemites managed to open the Bab al-Rahma prayer area after it had been closed by the Israeli police for 16 years.
