The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out air raids on the besieged Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening.
The PIC reporter said that the Israeli warplanes have attacked multiple sites in Gaza City striking targets at a resistance site west of Khan Yunis.
The IOF attack on Gaza was followed by rocket fire from Gaza. Resistance groups had earlier fired a number of rockets at Israeli targets near the Gaza Strip in response to the death of the Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan following 86 days of hunger strike.
On Tuesday morning the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) declared the death of senior leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group Khader Adnan after an 86-day hunger strike in Israeli jails.
Khader Adnan was found unresponsive in his cell in Nitzan jail in the central city of Ramle during the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday morning.
He was brought to the Shamir Medical Center outside Tel Aviv but was declared dead at the hospital the IPS said.
Earlier on Sunday an Israeli court refused to release the Palestinian hunger striker Khader Adnan despite his deteriorating health condition.
