The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has held the Israeli occupation responsible for the life of the detained Jerusalemite MP Ahmad Attoun after he suffered from symptoms similar to a heart attack.
In a press statement on Saturday the PPS said that MP Attoun was transferred to Shaare Zedek hospital adding that he will undergo cardiac catheterization next Sunday.
“The Israeli occupation forces detained MP Attoun after storming his house in Bethlehem governorate last Thursday” the PPS said calling on the concerned authorities to act urgently and work towards releasing the MP.
The PPS affirmed that the number of sick Palestinian prisoners has dramatically risen especially among prisoners who are serving long prison sentences pointing out that 700 patients are currently held in Israeli jails.
Last November Attoun was released from Israeli jail after he completed an 8-month administrative detention sentence. The 55-year-old MP was detained more than once and spent 16 years in Israeli prisons.
