Palestinian prisoners held in Nafha prison called for mass mobilization in support of the sick prisoner Walid Daqqa who suffers from very difficult health conditions.
In a brief statement issued Sunday evening the prisoners affirmed that an online campaign will be launched under a specified hashtag starting at 10 a.m. on Monday.
The campaign is launched in solidarity with Daqqa who suffers from a serious health condition after serving more than 37 years in Israeli prison the statement reads.
Daqqa a noted Palestinian intellectual and writer from Baqa al-Gharbia town in 1948 occupied Palestine (Israel) has been in detention since March 25 1986.
He was diagnosed last year with myelofibrosis – a rare form of bone marrow cancer that disrupts the body’s normal production of blood cells.
A few days ago he was transferred from the Ramla prison’s infirmary to Soroka Hospital after a decline in his health condition.
