The Hamas Movement has condemned the Israeli published tenders for establishing more than 1200 new settlement units in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
In a press statement on Monday the Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha said that Judaization and settlement plans will not grant Israel any legitimacy over the Palestinian lands stressing that the Palestinian people will confront such plans by all means possible.
“These settlement projects reflect that the Israeli occupation violates all international laws and the UN’s resolutions that criminalize settlement activities and call for ending them” Taha stressed.
He called on the United Nations and the Arab League to urgently work towards ending such settlement projects that threaten the peace and security of the region.
The Israeli occupation authorities had discussed a new settlement plan that aims at establishing about 1248 new settlement units in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Meanwhile the Jerusalem Local Planning and Building Committee is scheduled to discuss building 100 new settlement units and 275 hotel rooms to expand the illegal settlement of Nof Zion established in Jabal Al-Mukabir town southeast of Occupied Jerusalem.
