Head of Government Media Office in Gaza Salameh Maarouf has said that the power plant in the Gaza Strip would soon run out of fuel as Israel continues its air raids on the Strip for the third day and closes all crossings.
In a press conference on Thursday Maarouf asserted that the countdown to stopping the plant has begun pointing out that the cessation of fuel supplies would cause a humanitarian crisis especially in the health sector.
“The current Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip caused great damage to the infrastructure and water and electricity networks” Maarouf underlined adding that the fishing sector has completely stopped.
Maarouf pointed out that 5 residential buildings consisting of 19 housing units were completely demolished adding that large areas of agricultural lands and poultry farms were damaged as a result of the Israeli air raids on Gaza.
“At least 25 people including 6 children 4 women and two elderly have been killed and 76 others were injured since the beginning of the new Israeli attack launched on Gaza at dawn Tuesday” Maarouf affirmed.
He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and work towards ending the Israeli offensive on the besieged Gaza Strip as soon as possible.
