Palestinian prisoners launched a one-day hunger strike in Israeli jails on Monday.
The Supreme National Emergency Committee of the National Captive Movement said that the hunger strike comes as part of a series of protest steps to demand the release of sick Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa.
The committee added that the protest step also aims at demanding the end of the solitary confinement of the three Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine leaders in addition to protesting against the Israeli policy of administrative detention.
“These protest steps reflect that the death of Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan in Israeli custody after an 86-day hunger strike only boosts the Palestinian prisoners’ determination to continue the policy of hunger strike until they regain their freedom” the Committee affirmed.
It called on all concerned organizations to work towards releasing Palestinian prisoner Daqqa who is facing an imminent risk of death.
