The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in the Gaza Strip has warned against serious dangers threatening the Aqsa Mosque as Jewish temple groups and settlers plan to desecrate it en masse during the flag march they intend to stage in Occupied Jerusalem tomorrow Thursday.
In a statement on Wednesday the Awqaf ministry called on Muslim worshipers to intensify their presence at the Aqsa Mosque and raise Palestinian flags in its courtyards and in public places in the holy city and across the occupied territories.
The ministry strongly denounced the Israeli occupation authority for allowing such provocative settler march to be organized in the holy city affirming that aggressive practices against Muslim worshipers happen during this march.
The ministry stressed the need for all concerned parties to shoulder their responsibilities and pressure the Israeli occupation government to stop organizing this march.
Recently an extremist temple mount group (Returning to the Mount organization) submitted an official request to the Israeli police asking for permission to allow Jews to enter the Aqsa Mosque in large numbers while carrying Israeli flags next Thursday May 18.
According to the Hebrew media the Israeli flag march will take place on its traditional route which goes through the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem.
However different Jewish groups incited their followers to rally at the Aqsa Mosque’s entrances and to try to storm its courtyards during the flag march.
Israeli security minister Itamar Ben Gvir and other far-right ministers and lawmakers are expected to take part in the settler march.
Previous flag marches have seen several settlers acting provocatively and violently against Palestinian citizens attacking homes and stores and chanting racist and blasphemous slurs in the holy city.
