Amoudi: Israel’s crimes against journalists are imprescriptible

Saturday 20-May-2023

Ali al-Amoudi head of Hamas’s media sector in Gaza has affirmed that the Israeli occupation state’s crimes against Palestinian journalists are imprescriptible and cannot be forgotten.

“The report that was aired by Al Jazeera channel in its program ‘The Hidden is More Immense’ about the Israeli crimes of killing Palestinian journalists has asserted the presence of collusion and a premeditated intent to eliminate evidence and witnesses and obliterate the truth” Amoudi said in press remarks on Saturday.

The Hamas official added that the report accused the occupation state of attempting to evade responsibility for the crimes committed by its soldiers against journalists and carrying out a scheme aimed at terrorizing journalists.

“The occupation state’s crimes however will never intimidate the Palestinian journalists into not doing their sacred role in conveying the Palestinian people’s voice to the world … and exposing its crimes and the truth about its fascism and racism” he underscored.

Al Jazeera revealed in its investigative program “The Hidden is More Immense” on Friday that a senior Israeli official in the office of former Israeli army minister Benny Gantz admitted to US officials that the bullet that killed its journalist Shireen Abu Akleh on May 11 2022 was fired by an Israeli soldier.

This Israeli official also told the US officials that killing Shirin was a mistake but insisted that Israel would not announce or admit it officially.

Al Jazeera also obtained documents from Israeli investigations into the killing of journalists in the Palestinian territories revealing the size of Israeli manipulations regarding revealing the truth and punishing the killers.
