A large fire broke out on Saturday afternoon in Israeli settlements bordering the northern Gaza Strip.
According to Israel’s Channel 13 a huge blaze blanketed the sky over the settlements of Zikim and Karmia in northern Gaza.
Firefighting planes were deployed to help other crews on the ground fight the blaze but to no avail.
The Israeli police also worked on evacuating Israeli citizens near the Karmia reserve in the north of Gaza.
Haaretz website for its part said that Israel saw several wildfires in the north and south causing evacuations and property damage but thus far no casualties.
