The Israeli occupation army declared on Tuesday its intent to seize a vast tract of Palestinian-owned land in the West Bank in order to expand a Jewish settlement.

According to local sources the Israeli army decided to seize swaths of land belonging to Azzun Atma village in southern Tulkarem and the nearby village of Mas-ha in Salfit.

70 dunums of this land which includes olive groves will be appropriated in Azzun Atma village in order to build 192 housing units for the illegal settlement of Sha’arei Tikva.

Meanwhile the Israeli army bulldozed on the same day a Palestinian-owned scrapyard and removed over 100 vehicles from the site in ad-Duyuk at-Tahta village west of Jericho.

In a separate incident Israeli forces kidnaped two young men at a makeshift checkpoint on the road to Deir Sharaf town after they left Nablus. They were identified as Tareq ash-Shaqfa and Ahmed al-Sabarini from Jenin refugee camp.
