Four soldiers one settler injured in resistance operation near Jenin

Four Israeli soldiers and one settler were injured on Tuesday afternoon when Palestinian resistance fighters opened fire at them near Jenin in the occupied West Bank.

According to the Hebrew media five Israelis were wounded one of them critically during a shooting operation near the northern West Bank settlement of Mevo Dotan.

Four of those wounded are soldiers and one of them was transferred to a hospital in critical condition according to Israeli medical sources.

Israel’s Channel 14 said that gunmen fired from a speeding car at a resident of a West Bank settlement moderately wounding him before driving further down a road and shooting at a military vehicle and wounding four Israeli soldiers who suffered light-to-moderate injuries.

However one of the soldiers was reportedly rushed in critical condition to a hospital aboard a military helicopter.

Following the incident Israeli forces stormed Ya’bad town in western Jenin and clashed with local youths.

Local sources said that a large number of Israeli troops stormed the town set up makeshift roadblocks in its streets and closed the nearby military checkpoint of Dotan which provoked clashes with local youths.

In this regard senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi hailed the shooting operation in Jenin as “heroic” and a “natural response to the Israeli occupation’s crimes and its attempts to assassinate resistance fighters.”
