IOF quells anti-settlement marches in West Bank

Clashes were reported between Palestinian youths and Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Friday after the IOF quelled the anti-settlement marches in several areas of the West Bank.

IOF soldiers fired live bullets rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas bombs at Palestinian protestors in Beit Dajan village in Nablus and in Kafr Qaddoum village in Qalqilya.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that seven Palestinian citizens were injured in Beit Dajan.

Meanwhile a Palestinian child was injured in the back by a tear gas bomb in Beit Dajan according to the Palestinian Medical Relief Society.

Since July 2011 Kafr Qaddoum village has witnessed marches every Friday to demand the opening of the village’s main entrance which has been closed by the IOF for 20 years.

In a related development clashes were reported between the IOF soldiers and Palestinian protestors who called for removing the settlement outpost of Evyatar in Beita village south of Nablus.

Moreover a number of Palestinian citizens including a journalist were injured during clashes that erupted between the IOF and Palestinian youths after the IOF soldiers stormed the Asida area in Beit Ummar town to the north of al-Khalil.

In another incident a number of Palestinian citizens suffered breathing problems after the Israeli soldiers fired teargas bombs at Palestinian houses in Qaryut village south of Nablus to facilitate the Jewish settlers’ raid into the village according to local sources.
