The Hamas Movement has offered its deepest condolences to the Nigerian people and its leadership over the tragic loss of life from the boat incident that happened recently in the Niger River.
In a statement on Friday Hamas expressed its solidarity with Nigeria in this ordeal and its deep sympathy with the bereaved families asking Allah Almighty to bestow his mercy upon the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the wounded.
More than 100 people drowned and more were reported missing after a boat carrying them down the Niger River in southwestern Nigeria capsized last Monday the local security authorities said.
The vessel was carrying around 300 passengers traveling across the river to Niger after a wedding.
The boat capsized after part of the vessel collapsed causing water to flood the boat police said.
