The Hamas Movement has stressed the importance of the remarks that were made recently by Karim Khan prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) about the victims around the world and the crimes committed against them.
However Hamas affirmed that Khan’s recent remarks must be translated on the ground with regard to the Israeli violations in Palestine.
In a statement on Saturday Hamas said that ICC’s investigations with regard to Palestine have been stalled since March 2021 calling for giving “the case of Palestine the due importance legally in accordance with the Rome Statute and the procedural rules regulating the work of the International Criminal Court.”
“We must bring our work closer to communities. To build strong cases we must understand the world in which survivors live the societal context in which crimes are committed. To do that we have to be on the ground” the ICC chief said in a symposium last Thursday.
