Relatives of Israeli soldiers held captive in the Gaza Strip since 2014 lashed out at Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu at a memorial event in Occupied Jerusalem on Thursday accusing him of abandoning their sons and brothers.
Ayelet Goldin the sister of captive soldier Hadar Goldin criticized Netanyahu for not bringing her brother home.
As Netanyahu left the event Goldin shouted at him “Benjamin Netanyahu look a bereaved sister in the eyes. You’ve been prime minister for nine years. Don’t turn your back on me. What is there in the grave for nine years? … You know exactly where he is. You are guilty prime minister your hands bear the responsibility … You are abandoning soldiers and civilians.”
However Netanyahu ignored her and continued to walk away from Goldin as she protested.
Goldin was taken prisoner during the 2014 war on Gaza in an ambush by Hamas resistance fighters. Another soldier identified as Oron Shaul was also captured in a separate operation in 2014. Hamas is also holding captive two Israelis Avera Mengistu and Hisham as-Sayed.
