Several Palestinians injured in renewed West Bank clashes

Tuesday 4-July-2023

Several Palestinians were injured as clashes erupted between local youths and Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in separate areas of the West Bank on Tuesday evening.

In al-Khalil two Palestinians were injured by Israeli gunfire after clashes broke out in Beit Ummar town. Settlers also opened fire at Palestinian homes. No injuries were reported.

Similar clashes also erupted in Al-Arroub camp where two youths were injured while dozens suffered from teargas inhalation. The confrontation erupted after the IOF suppressed a pro-Jenin protest in the refugee camp.

Meanwhile four women were injured when an Israeli military vehicle hit their vehicle during the clashes that erupted at the northern entrance to Yatta town south of al-Khalil.

According to local residents a Palestinian ambulance was prevented from reaching the injured.

In Bethlehem clashes broke out in the Umm Rukba area south of Al-Khader town amid heavy firing of rubber-coated metal bullets stun grenades and tear gas bombs.

In Jenin four Palestinians were injured in Kafr Dan clashes including a child while another was injured in al-Yamoun town.

Israel’s bloody aggression on Jenin City and its refugee camp has continued for the second consecutive day on Tuesday killing 12 Palestinians and injuring 123 others.

The ongoing ground-and-air attack on the Jenin refugee camp is the largest Israeli military offensive in the occupied territory since the 2000-2005 second Intifada (uprising) against Israel’s decades-long occupation.
