The Israeli occupation army claimed on Sunday that its forces arrested the Palestinian who carried out a shooting operation in the morning near the illegal settlement of Tekoa in Bethlehem.
In a statement the Israeli army said that its forces arrested the shooter after encircling a mosque in Bethlehem City while Hebrew media reports said that the shooter was arrested near the checkpoint of Tekoa.
Local sources said that several citizens suffered from their exposure to tear gas during violent clashes with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the central district of Bethlehem.
Following the shooting operation in the morning the IOF imposed road closures at the entrances of Bethlehem City and northern al-Khalil where they stopped Palestinian vehicles for security checks.
The IOF also stormed different areas in and around Bethlehem City and raided stores and homes.
Three Jewish settlers were injured one seriously during a Palestinian shooting operation in southern Bethlehem south of the occupied West Bank on Sunday morning.
