IOF kills Palestinian injures 4 in Nablus raid

Thursday 20-July-2023

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot a Palestinian dead and injured at least four others two in serious condition in the West Bank city of Nablus on Thursday morning.

The Palestinian health ministry affirmed that Badr Sami Ribhi al-Masri 19 succumbed to fatal injuries he sustained by IOF gunfire.

At least four Palestinians also suffered gunshot wounds two of them were in serious condition while 30 others suffered from teargas inhalation including a journalist.

This came when clashes erupted in the eastern region of Nablus after being stormed by IOF troops and settler groups who came to perform Talmudic rituals at Joseph’s Tomb referring to a shrine in the city.

Palestinian resistance fighters confronted the Israeli forces who responded by firing a barrage of bullets and gas bombs.

The director of the Red Crescent Ambulance and Emergency Center in Nablus Ahmed Jibril affirmed that the IOF troops prevented the Red Crescent ambulance from reaching a 12-day-old baby girl who was suffering from teargas inhalation.

The paramedics were forced to march on foot to provide her with the necessary medical aid.

The IOF also targeted an ambulance with rubber-coated metal bullets while transporting a patient near Balata refugee camp.

Meanwhile hundreds of settlers gathered inside the mausoleum of Joseph’s Tomb.

Israeli troops and settlers routinely storm the eastern area of Nablus to perform rituals at the tomb which they claim to be the resting-place of the biblical patriarch Joseph while locals and Palestinian historians affirm that the grave belongs to a local medieval Muslim Sheikh called Yousef al-Duwaik.

In Salfit clashes erupted in Qarawat Bani Hassan town in protest against the Israeli decision to close its entrance for several days.
