The Palestinian Commission of Detainees&rsquo and Ex-Detainees&rsquo Affairs has called on local and international human rights institutions and women’s groups to intervene immediately to stop the daily violations the Palestinian female prisoners are exposed to in Damon jail.
This came in a statement issued by the Commission on Sunday following a recent visit by its lawyer Hanan al-Khatib to the prison.
&ldquoThe incarceration conditions of the detainees have become worse and more complicated and affected them psychologically&rdquo the Commission said.
&ldquoThe administration of the jail does not take any action to deal with the sensitive situation of the sick female prisoners and provide them with the necessary and appropriate medical treatment they need&rdquo the Commission underlined.
The Commission also accused the Damon jailers of ignoring a number of requests filed by the prisoners to meet their essential needs.
According to the Commission there are 32 Palestinian women in different Israeli jails including 28 in Damon jail and two others in the infirmary of Ramla jail.
