Human rights activists in the United States of America have called on all Google and Amazon workers to rise up against their companies and pressure them to stop doing business with apartheid Israel.
In a statement on Monday the activists underlined that Amazon and Google’s contract with Israel to provide it with cloud technology will make it easier for the Israeli government to surveil Palestinians and force them off their land.
The activists have been calling for mobilizing at the annual Amazon Web Service’s summit held in New York next Wednesday as Amazon is putting profit ahead of people by powering the Israeli government’s violence against Palestinians.
Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud executives had signed a $1.22 billion contract to provide cloud technology to the Israeli government and military.
Google and Amazon’s cloud services may be also used to enable Israel’s expansion of illegal settlements by supporting data collection for the Israel Land Authority.
