IOA extends administrative detention of Abdul-Salam Abul-Haija

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) decided on Thursday to extend the administrative detention of Abdul-Salam Abul-Haija the son of senior Hamas official Jamal Abul-Haija for an additional six months.

This was the third time the IOA extended the administrative detention of Abdul-Salam Abul-Haija who is a noted Hamas figure in the West Bank. He was kidnaped by Israeli forces from his workplace in Jenin on August 10 2022.

He had spent a total of 14 years in different Israeli jails including six years in administrative detention.

Abdul-Salam is the brother of Hamza who was killed during armed clashes with Israeli soldiers in 2014. His father Sheikh Jamal has been in jail since 2022 serving nine life sentences.

In another context the Palestinian Commission of Detainees&rsquo and Ex-Detainees&rsquo Affairs accused the Israeli prison service of medically neglecting prisoner Riyad al-Amour who suffers from chronic heart problems.

According to the Commission prisoner Amour has a pacemaker in his chest and this device needs to be replaced every nine years.
