The Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs revealed that the health condition of Jerusalemite prisoner Hussam Matar 48 has seriously deteriorated in Ohli Kedar solitary confinement.
The Commission quoted his lawyer Moataz Shuqairat as saying that Matar suffers from serious health deterioration after he was subjected to deliberate medical negligence.
Matar suffers from a herniated disc causing him severe foot pain his lawyer said.
He also suffers from high blood pressure an irregular heartbeat blood fat frequent dizziness and sharp head and eye pains.
In January 2023 the Israeli forces began demolishing two apartments belonging to Matar and his brother in Jabal al-Mukaber town.
Matar a father of two children was arrested in 2007 and subjected to a harsh interrogation for 50 days before being sentenced to life imprisonment. In June 2013 he went on hunger strike for three months.
